The Punjab Department of Medical Education and Research today announced 150 more vacant MBBS seats in the state. These are in addition to the 55 seats that remained unfilled in four private medical colleges.
The department today invited all eligible students for counselling at the State Institute of Health and Family Welfare, Mohali, on September 29. The 150 seats are at Chintpurni Medical College and Hospital in Pathankot.
The college was opened in 2011 with a batch of 150 students. After the first batch, no new admission took place at the college over the last two years. The Medical Council of India (MCI) had debarred the college from fresh admissions due to shortage of faculty and inadequate infrastructure.
