Hundres Feared Dead After Passenger Ship Sinks In China's Yangtze
Hundreds are feared dead after a ship packed with nearly 450 passengers sank in the Yangtze river in southwest China late on Monday night. Rescuers were battling strong winds and strong river waves to rescue passengers trapped in the ship which was on its way to Chongqing from the city of Nanjing in eastern China.There were 406 passengers, five travel agency tour guides and 47 crew members aboard, according to the administration.“More than 1,000 armed police officers have been dispatched to the site where a passenger ship carrying 458 people sank in the Yangtze River in central Hubei Province on Monday night.
