After learning more about Manmohan Singh, it's easy to see that he is quite a blessing for India. Under P. V. Narasimha Rao, he was the finance minister that liberalized India's economy. If this liberalization didn't occur, India would not be the booming emerging superpower it is today. It's a good thing that he got rid of a lot of India's previous socialist regulations, licenses, and what not. This same finance minister is now your prime minister......how lucky India is to have him as prime minister. It would be like America having Ron Paul as president when the 2008 election comes......another pro-freedom and pro-free market candidate.
As of late, what new economic reforms Singh has made? It would be nice if he could smash the Central Bank of India so that the currency will be backed by real commodities like gold. This would booste economic growth even more. He generally reduces regulation and cuts taxes, correct (with the help of parliament of course)?
And what is Manmohan Singh position on social issues (individual freedom)? Is he against the current drug prohibition laws of the nation? Will he scrap India's sodomy laws any time soon......which is heavily unfair towards homosexuals? And what about his opinions on legal abortions and legal euthanasia?
