MUMBAI: The All-India Ulema Council has asked the Muslim community to boycott all Godrej products until the company’s chairperson Adi Godrej apologises for hosting writer Salman Rushdie. The author of The Satanic Verses was the Godrejs guest at their Juhu bungalow during his stay in the city.
The call for a boycott was given on Tuesday evening and has been given wide publicity in the Urdu media on Wednesday, said Maulana Mehmood Daryabadi, general secretary of the Ulema council.
