SRINAGAR:--
Jammu & Kashmir education minister and state Congress president, Pirzada Mohmmad Sayeed, on Tuesday resigned from the Ghulam Nabi Azad cabinet after an MLA alleged that he had bribed him Rs 40,000 for his sister's job.
Confirming this in the assembly, Azad said he has forwarded the minister's resignation to the governor. He said a probe has been ordered after the minister's driver was arrested for allegedly threatening the MLA.
"Sayeed wouldn't be part of the cabinet until he's cleared of the corruption charges," Azad said, adding, "No one will be allowed to go scot-free in corruption or militancy-related cases."
