India's Mars Orbiter spacecraft, orbiting the red planet since September 23, has captured a moving image of Phobos, one of the two moons circling the plant. The other moon is Deimos. The image of Phobos, a dark dot, is seen moving over the reddish surface of Mars in a Vine image posted by Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) that is controlling the Orbiter.Phobos has a size of 27 x 22 x 18 km in diameter and orbits Mars three times a day, and is so close to the planet's surface that at some places, it can't always be seen, says NASA on its website.Phobos in fact is on a collision course with Mars. But it's a long time in the future- 50 million years, says NASA.The moon was first discovered on 1877 by Asaph Hall. Phobos is a character from Greek mythology. The other moon, Deimos, is the younger brother of Phobos.
