Infosys's Founder, Chairman and Chief Mentor, Mr N.R. Narayana Murthy will be retiring from the services of the company on August 20, when he turns 60.
The company also announced its board's decision to appoint Mr Murthy as an Additional Director of the company with effect from August 21. "He will continue to serve the company in a seminal role. As chief mentor, he will lead the new generation of leaders in the company," said Mr Nandan Nilekani, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of the Company.
Mr Nilekani, now the senior-most executive in the company, will be taking over as the corporate head.
