Selection Pattern of Indian Cricket Team
How many selectors do genuinely watch the domestic level cricketsall the players are chosen based on the score card sitting in the posch hotel rooms. None cares how the runs have been scored. No value for the quality of the innings played its the runs on the board at the end of the day is counted.
There is an hectic competition prevails in the junior level cricket. Only a few of the players in the Under 17 or under 19 level deserve their place owing to their cricketing qualities. Half the team is filled with kith and kin of ex-players or office bearers despite their poor performances.
Adding insult to injury is the personal preferences of the captains of the team? Yuvraj can fail for 15 continuous innings but still retain a place in the team whereas Sadagopan Ramesh or Hemang Badani are conveniently forgotten despite their good if not outstanding performances. Laxman can find a place in the team beacuse of his success in a single series but other cannot find one if they fail in one series. Agarkar repeatedly proved the world that neither is he a bowler nor a batsmen but still Indians believe in him an allrounder
