Bangladesh burst into celebrations with hundreds of revellers taking to the streets on Sunday, a day after their cricket team beat Australia in a one-day international cricket, regarded as the biggest upset ever in the history of the game.
Fans in capital Dhaka are still to come to terms with the victory and cannot believe that their team could beat the world champions.
"Yesterday, Bangladesh beat Australia which is an unexpected thing. We cannot express our happiness," said Rehana, a cricket buff.
"We are very proud of the fact that Bangladesh won against Australia and hope they keep up the performance in the future games," added Farhan, another cricket fan.
Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia also congratulated the Bangladeshi players, saying she believed they would keep the winning spree going
