part-time work for womens!

Only 23 per cent of rural women aged 15 years and above and 28 per cent of urban women in the country have shown preference for regular fulltime jobs with the majority -- 72 per cent in rural areas and 68 per cent in urban areas -- seeking part time employment.
The low work participation rate for women may be partly due to the fact that investigators might not be able to enquire in detail about the economic activities performed by women in addition to their domestic duties.


So, ome can post their views conserning this and all post part time and full time jobs for womens.

the main reason for Indian women shunning full time jobs is because of our old tradition,where females after marriage are required to do all the household work alone,which hardly gives her any time for even a part time job.there are many benefits of a female taking the role of homemaker both to her and her family,but since we are talking about reasons as to why women dont take up full time jobs lets leave it for now.another reason for women not opting for full time job is lack of proper education,even today there are families who dont want their girl child to study more then whats just basic,or we can say many girls in rural areas are not even matriculates.another reason can be that some employers under-estimate the working ability of females.workplace harassment,physical/verbal abuse,working in shifts etc can be some of the other reasons keeping women away from full time jobs.
These are possible reasons which i feel keep women away from work.and with these issues it will take a decade for them to come out openly,
