Janmashtami is also known as ‘Satam Aatham’, ‘Krishna Janmashtami’ in different parts of India. Janmashtami is a Hindu festival celebrating birth of Lord Krishna, the eighth incarnation (avatar) of Lord Vishnu.
Janmashtami is celebrated in the Hindu month of Shraavana on eighth day of dark half (Krishna Paksha) at midnight, mostly at sharp 12:00 hrs.
