Candolim is a small city in the western Indian country of Goa. standing on the beaches of the Arabian Sea, it’s known for Candolim Beach and, to the north, lively Calangute seaside, within the south, the strong walls of Aguada fort, built within the early 1600s beneath Portuguese colonial rule, surround a nineteenth-century lighthouse. The whitewashed, centuries-vintage Church of St. Lawrence stands on a nearby hill.
