Telugu film actor Chiranjeevi’s father K Venkata Rao (76) died here in the wee hours of Monday after a prolonged illness. He was reportedly suffering from a heart ailment.
Venkata Rao, who acted in a couple of Telugu films, is survived by wife Anjani Devi, three actor-sons—Chiranjeevi, Nagababu and Pavan Kalyan—and two daughters.
Several politicians and Tollywood personalities paid their tributes to Venkata Rao. Former chief minister and TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu visited Chiranjeevi’s house and consoled the actor, while chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, who is in Kadapa, called up Chiranjeevi and conveyed his condolence.
