                What Happened after Mahabharat

After the defeat of Kaurava's in Mahabharat yudha, Pandava's became ruler of both Indraprastha & Hastinapur ( located 125 Kms from Delhi). Later on, Pandava's enthroned Bajranabha (Vajranabha)-the great grandson of Lord Krishna as the King of Indraprastha & Mathura and made Parikshit Maharj as the King of Hastinapur. Even today the belt between Delhi & Mathura is called Ahirwal. The names of few Yadav king's who ruled Delhi post Mahabharat era is: Vikrampal, Samudrapal etc.

                Who Was Parikshit Maharj?

Parikshit, the great Bhaagavatottama, was the son of veera Abhimanyu and Viraata's daughter, Uttara and was the only successor of Pandavas

                After that

Some five thousand years ago, after Krishna and His associates wound up Their earthly pastimes, the Lord's great-grandson, Vajranabha Maharaja, installed Deities of Krishna all over Vraja. Deities were installed also at Vrinda Kunda. O best of the sages, after the great King Yudhishthira installed Shri Vajranabha (the grandson of Pradyumna) at Mathura, and Parikshit (his own grandson) at Hastinapura and then left to go back to Godhead, what did King Vajranabha and Maharaja Parikshit do?

At the end of Dvapar Yuga, this place (forest area Indraprastha) was the part of Kaurava Kingdom. Later on this place was given to the Pandavas by the Kauravas. Kaurav & Pandavs were all Chandravanshi Kshatriya & were the ancestor of King Puru- the son of King Yayati. The mother of Pandavas, Kunti Devi was a Yadav princess & the sister of King Vasudev (the father of Lord Krishna). When Pandavas were given this forest area by Kauravas to live & rule from, all the Yadav's from Dwarakapuri contributed 1/6 of their wealth for the kingdom of Indraprastha- the Kingdom of Pandavas. Lord Krishna spent lot of time in Indraprastha. Maya Danav constructed the palace of Indraprastha.

                      Important article about Ancient Tradition

In those days women were given so much respect....

                      1) A woman's decision was the ultimate decision....

                      2) A woman could choose any man according to their own will.

                      3) And a man's responsibility was to respect a woman's decision.

                      4) That is why men used to marry more than one woman.

                      5) And the princes had much more responsibility than others. Any princess or woman could choose them and they had to marry.

                      6) As, Arjun was extremely talented and physically handsome; so princesses wanted to marry him. Uloopi and Chitrangada both fell in love with him at first.

                      7) Being a responsible man, he accepted them.

                      8) The system was that..... women used to come to the princes and would tell "I have surrenderd my body and soul to you, I accepted you as my husband"

                      9) And if a woman says "I have surrendered my body and soul to you, you have to accept me as your wife" , then it was not possible for a man to alter that request.

                      10) Krishna Bhagwan in His human avtar also accepted His main 8 wives because they kind of blackmailed Him

                          Pandava Armies 7 Akshouhinis = 551,33,83,260
                          Kaurava Armies 11 Akshouhinis = 866,38,87,960
                          Total 18 Akshouhinis = 1417,72,71,240
Except Pandavas, Krishna. Satyaki and Yuyutsu on Pandavas side, and Kripa, Krutavarma and Ashwatthama on Kaurava's side, all were killed. Yudhishthira told Dhritarashtra that Great Warriors (MahaRathis) killed in the War, were more than 94 crores.

No clear details are available in the Epic, how Pandava Warriors disposed off kaurava armies. Abhimanyu on the 13th Day, killed more than 0.50 Akshouhini army, and Arjuna on the 14th Day killed 5 Akshouhinis.

                          54. Attacking Pandavas side,
