The solar eclipse was also visible in Hong Kong, China, Japan, Russia, Northern Alaska and the United States.
The eclipse was seen in Chennai and Bangalore at 6.45 am, in Mumbai at 6.53 am, in Kolkata at 7 am, while in Delhi, it was seen at 7.07 am.
In Kurukshetra, lakhs of devotees took a holy dip during the solar eclipse, since it is particularly significant being the first solar eclipse of the 21st century.
