Hollywood steps into bollywood
George Clooney recently said that he’d love to act in a Bollywood film.
Other actors like Britney Spears, Paris Hilton and Tom Arnold have also expressed a desire to be part of the Indian film industry. In fact, a major Indian production house has even signed a two-film deal with Will Smith’s company and is in the process of developing an animation and a live-action script with him. But will these Hollywood stars fit into our song-dance-drama kind of setting, asks BT.
Singer Avril Quadros says it’s quite a novel idea. And a very funny thought. "Indian heroes are protrayed as larger than life" So a George Clooney will need to learn to dance, sing, cry, laugh and fight. Moreover, he doesn’t know Hindi. The dialogues will have to be dubbed and that would be hilarious to watch. Even miming would be a task. Imagine Clooney mouthing the words, ‘Main tumse pyaar karta hoon’," quips Avril. "The Indian audience is hard to please. It’ll be difficult to measure up," she points out
