The Padma Shri awardee studied at the Film and Television Institute of India. Om Puri had done memorable role opposite Helen Mirren in Steven Spielberg's 2014 American comedy-drama 'The Hundred-Foot Journey'. He was a great hero of Indian cinema. May god give his soul remain in peace.
