Supreme Court dismisses Yakub Memon's petition on death warrant. He will be executed

Yakub Memon was born on 30 July 1962 in Mumbai. In 1993 Memon financially assisted his brother Tiger Memon and Dawood Ibrahim in planning and executing the bombings.On august 1994 Memon was arrested at New Delhi railway station with a briefcase which contained a recording of a conversation he had had in Karachi.March 12, 1993, 13 bombs were exploded in various parts of bombay by yakub.September 12, 2006 Yakub Memon is sentenced to death by hanging. Memon files an appeal in the Supreme Court.The Supreme Court rejects Memon’s plea, and confirms his death sentence.It is declared that Memon is to be hanged on July 30, 2015.

At 5 Am, Supreme Court Says Yakub Memon To Hang

Yakub Memon will hang today at about 7 am for his role in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts, ruled the Supreme Court at 5 am. For the first time ever, a hearing was held in the top court's premises in the middle of the night. Nagpur jail officials are now prepping for the execution of Memon, who turns 53 today.

For the first time ever, the top court was opened up in the middle of the night. Three judges heard a last-minute petition that said Memon cannot be executed for at least a week after his mercy plea is rejected.
