  • On Premier Trains Meals Could Soon Become Optional

According to sources the Railway minister decided that they will separate passenger price from catering costs in his budget speech this month and serving meals could become optional. Some passengers on Premier trains may soon have to forgo their meals in order to save money. The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority is considering eliminating the complimentary meal service on some of its trains, citing declining ridership and revenue. The $2.50 fare increase that went into effect in January made the cost of a meal more expensive for many passengers. With so many people now using ride-sharing services like Uber and Lyft, there's less need for a mid-day meal.
