  • PM Modi inaugurate metro from Delhi to Faridabad.

    Prime Minister Narendra Modi travelled by Delhi Metro on Sunday to inaugurate the extension of the Badarpur Line that will connect the satellite city of Faridabad to the national capital. The extension is 14 km long and have 9 station between them.

    The total cost of the project from Badarpur to Escorts Mujesar is nearly Rs. 2,500 crore. Out of this, Rs. 1,557 crore was borne by the Haryana Government, the Centre contributed Rs. 537 crore, while the Delhi Metro provided Rs. 400 crore.

      The Prime Minister said the extension was built at a cost of nearly Rs 2,500 crore and another Rs 600-700 crore will be spent to extend it to Ballabhgarh.

        According to official estimates, presently the average ridership on Line 6 stands at around 1.92 lakh per day. It is expected to go up by another 2 lakh with the launch of the new section.

          The Prime Minister boarded the Metro from Janpath station and travelled with common people to Bata Chowk station of Faridabad-Badarpur line. This was the second time that PM Modi travelled with commoners in Delhi Metro.
