    What is KNOPPIX®?

KNOPPIX is a bootable Live system on CD or DVD, consisting of a representative collection of GNU/Linux software, automatic hardware detection, and support for many graphics cards, sound cards, SCSI and USB devices and other peripherals. KNOPPIX can be used as a productive Linux system for the desktop, educational CD, rescue system, or adapted and used as a platform for commercial software product demos. It is not necessary to install anything on a hard disk. Due to on-the-fly decompression, the CD can have up to 2 GB of executable software installed on it (over 8GB on the DVD "Maxi" edition).

Dont ever waver in your mind when it comes to the question of switching to linux.....dear windows users. You may have a little stumbling experience in the first one or two days as you stumpled your first day with computers, then slowly you begin to appreciate linux over windows.
Go for linux versions that have real player, macromedia flash and such things in it, so that you can end up using linux for anything and everything, everytime.
Linux OS is freely downlodable from net and it comes as a utility in many distribution CD's.
Red Hat,Mandrake,Suse and many others release their versions of linux and you can have your choice.
The professional versions of linux, which comes with technical support costs just a fraction of the cost of Windows OS.
Ive heard that the webserver running microsoft.com was once switched to linux for critical purposes, when it was under attack (no confirmation).
Linux desktop for yor PC. You can have that with 100% satisfaction.
It is the future of operating systems. so general users of windows OS,next time when a technician comes and talks about re-installing your OS,ask him whether he has a good linux version and atleast install it side by side with windows(dual-boot).Dont be left out,the world is moving to linux.
MAY THE SOURCE BE WITH YOU
