    Traveling:
    Traveling with children

Parents should take special care when traveling with young children and being prepared in advance is important. Special seating arrangements in planes can often be arranged and cots provided for infants if notice is given in advance. Prepare for possible travel sickness. And take boiled sweets to prevent their ears popping.

Take lots of colouring books, pens, comics, magazines etc.. To stop them getting bored.

Children's' skin burns easily in the sun. Take sensible clothing, high factor sun screens and avoid exposure to 'midday' sun.

Check with the car company (if you are planning on driving) to find out if they have seat belts and children's seats.Remember don`t let children drink water unless it comes from a sealed bottle. And don`t let them eat raw fruit or vegetables.

If your child has vomiting or diarrhoea lost fluid and salts must be replaced. It may be helpful to take rehydrating tablets for reconstituting with boiled water. Make sure that you and the children are up to date with immunisations. In some countries you need vaccines so check with your doctor before you travel.Doses of malaria tablets are usually less than for adults.

If your children come down with any illnesses seek medical advice straight away. Make sure you are covered for medical insurance.
