  • Has India lost its identity?

It amazing how entire populations get influenced by the worldwide trends of today. India is at the proverbial crossroads. Does it become more "westernised" or keep its traditional culture?

It's a pity people don't realise the major changes that are happening right in front of us.

There is a very interesting book that every Indian person should read. It's been recommended in this forum before:

The very debate on whether we get westernised or more traditional is kind of wierd.

We have heads on our shoulders to decide what to do and what not. We dont have to buy everything from the west and we dont need to carry the burden of those traditions of the past that are useless in the present society.

Thats exactly what most of the people in India do. We still support our parents in their old age, we still help our neighbours without expecting a favour in return.

We wear jeans alright but we still wear kurta with it. Its about choosing the best. Not about being western or indian.

We are not racist like a very large population out there in white countries. But we also acknowedge their competence in commerce and industry and try to learn from them.

While we know that we have a better social and spiritual system in place we also accept the fact that they are better professionally. And there are things we could learn from them.

As it appears that this book is propbably written by an indian. i have seen many foreign authors coming on a short trip to india and writing books on india. They understand half the stuff and conveniently believe and propagate what they see through their coloured glasses fully convinced that theirs is the only possible and right perspective.

And lastly there is a separate place in this forum for advertising. So we will be greatful to u if u do it just there.

ya! do you have different identities for different caste?

Do you share the same identity with a dalit (e.g. neo on this forum) ?

obviously, the mongoloid people in the northeast don't share the same identity with you. they are killing hindu's.

Okay back to the question - and remove this snower freak.

India did not completely lose its identity. But is made into believing that it did.

yeah India has not lost it's identity. Only in metropolitan cities they are a bit western but overall India has completely retained its identity.

No india doesn't lost its identity. As number of fields are there where india is holding top positions. there are number of exempals you can see. in peace india is number one, in religion india is number one,in production of many items india is number one, now india is also making its place in IT sector. So there are many more areas where india is leading. Also the culture, the religion we had we dont lost it which is the main part of india's identity.

                  Do indian have an identity?

Before british colonization was india a unified country?

Do dalit people share the same identity with other castes?

Do indain Muslim share the same identity with hindus?

If india didn't lose identity why you use english for communication on a forum?

Do you have a forum in hindu language?

                  Don't cheat yourself, indian.

idiot chinese, here are the answers to ur questions

yes india was a unified country before the british rule. thats why i tell u to go back to school stupid chinese. have u heard of maurya empire, gupta empire and mughal rule? all these gave continious regimes for more centuries than u chinese can dream of. read some history books before opening ur mouth on a forum.

we use english to communicate on this forum exactly because we have not lost our identity. speaking english doesn't make us cows like u are. we still speak our own language at home, our culture is still the same, our religion is still the same. u copy cats neither have ur culture, religion nor anything else preserved now. ur just copies coming out of the communist factory.

national identity is above religion u idiot. if muslims would not share the same identity the would have gone to pakistan in 1947, but they stayed out of their own choice. when pakistan attacked india, muslims fought against pakistan. such things are beyond the understanding of mules like u. know why? because u were programmed to be just like any other mule ur communist government manufactures...

as for a forum in hindi, since ur an idiot u will not understand that hindi is not the only language spoken in india. unlike china where if ur government asks u to eat s**t, u will eat it for the fear of ur life- in india hindi or english is not forced on anyone. its easier to maintain a forum in english with the php technology and thats why forums are in english. u wouldn't understand unicode and such terms so is no use explaining that to u dumbo...hihihi
                    I 'll show u a new world!

you should have learn your history better, all those historical empires only cover part of india, for example, the mongolian mughal empire only rule the north part of india, the south part was never unified.

India was truely unified into a country by the british colonization. don't cheat yourself.

now i ll need to learn indian history from a 4th grade uneducated chinese? haha...

i m sure u have not heard of ashoka, chandragupta maurya, akbar, aurenzeb and the likes. india has been a federal structure since ancient times. even in 300 BC there were governors in provinces unified under the central rule of the king at magadh.

the mughals came as intruders but were civilised by the calming nature of hinduism and buddhism and settled down making india their country. thats why the barbarian race of mongols ( temur lane and chengiz khan) also ultimately mingled and are now a part of indian diaspora.

u know what, ur too narrow minded to understand such things. don't try put back ur head where it should be and spare ur country the shame of having a citizen like u

Lol....most famous Chinese forums are using our own technologies. For example, more than 1 million Chinese websites/forums use the Discuz(www.discuz.com) system. It is developed by Chinese and supporting several types of languages.

All global TOP20 Chinese websites are written in Chinese.

None of global Internet companies can won the No.1 market share in China, including Google, MSN, Yahoo, and Ebay. They are all defeated by Chinese companies such as BaiDu, QQ , Sina, TaoBao, and Alibaba.

to win in china there should be freedom for competition. google has to filter its results in china because of the chinese governments restrictive policies.

its normal to have chinese websites in china because most of the chinese don't speak or understand english. in india, people with access to internet are generally fluent in english. it's much easier to maintain a site in english using php than form a site in hindi or any other indian language.

its not a big deal to do that. if u guys read news u wd know that the chief architect of news.google.com is an indian.

global companies compete on a global scale, thats why no one outside china has heard of baidu, kaiku and jhinu...

let me teach you agian: india was never totally unified before british colonization. all the historical empires only unified part of india.
