After Punjab and Haryana raised the value added tax (VAT) on diesel on July 16, the Chandigarh Administration today hiked VAT on diesel in the city from 9.68 per cent to 16.41 per cent. With this hike by the UT Administration, diesel prices will be almost on a par in the tricity. The diesel price in the city will increase from Rs 46.70 to Rs 50.58 per litre, a hike of Rs 3.88. The diesel price in Mohali is Rs 50.46 per litre while in Panchkula, the price is Rs 50.35.
