  • Shashank Manohar seeks report on Cuttack crowd trouble

The two teams witnessed some ugly scenes at the Barabati stadium on Wednesday, when a certain set of fans displayed their anger at India's poor capitulation by throwing bottles onto the field. When the players were heading back to the pavilion at the half-way stage after India were bundled out for a paltry total of 92, fans in gallery no. 4 started to hurl bottles and were relentless in expressing their displeasure. The new BCCI president has asked OCA to explain why bottles were allowed inside the stadium since it was against the guidelines given by ICC.

Play was suspended temporarily with the players walking off as police moved to take control of the situation. After a length interruption, play resumed and South Africa cantered to victory. Even as India skipper MS Dhoni played down the turn of events in his post-match comments, BCCI have not taken the crowd reaction lightly and expect a report to be submitted within two days.
