  • Saddam Hussein executed

Clutching a Quran and refusing a hood, Saddam Hussein went to the gallows before sunrise Saturday, executed by vengeful countrymen. The death penalty was carried out following the guilty verdict in Saddam’s trial for the killing of 148 Shiite men and boys from the town of Dujail after militants tried to assassinate him there in 1982, during Iraq’s war with Shiite Iran.
Saddam was executed at a former military intelligence headquarters in Baghdad’s Shiite neighborhood of Kazimiyah, al-Askari said. The neighborhood is home to the Iraqi capital’s most important Shiite shine, the Imam Kazim shrine.
What do our members feel ? Did Saddam Hussein get a fair trail? Was his execution necessary ? Let the opinions flow freely.

    Saddam Executed right or wrong

Saddam Hussein, the former Iraqi dictator who was hanged by US or Iraq people you can make decision in this issue? The execution took place shortly after 6 a.m. (10 p.m. Friday ET) and SADDAM IS GONE

I got up in the morning and read this main news and got shocked well like me Indian Govt also opposed this action.

I also read "He was a broken man,". "He was fraide."

I also read Hussein refused to wear a black hood over his head before execution. In video I have seen him with full confidence

US praising Iraqi people for giving Hussein a fair trial.

I think if we human beings do not have any right by God to create human being of our will we do not have right to vanish any human being.

By hanging any human being how got the benefit. Where are the human right associations? Where are the human communities? They all made him Hero He may be wrong or right but I think hanging a 69 year old man is not the solution of the problem

I think at the end of the year 2005 where every body is making celebrations it may have heart lot of people who believes in humanity

What you thing about it please post

        I read it at kansacity
“Executing Saddam will not change anything because we have many Saddam still,” said Mohammed Latif, a 35-year-old day worker from Baghdad, referring to Iraq’s current government.

A number of European nations, the European Union, the Vatican and the United Nations have said execution is not an appropriate response to crime.

The Rev. Federico Lombardi, a Vatican spokesman, said that even when the executed “was guilty of grave crimes … capital punishment is always tragic news, a reason for sadness.”

German Chancellor Angela Merkel indirectly criticized Hussein’s execution.
“We respect the verdict, but it is a known fact that the German government opposes the death penalty,” she said. “I wish for the Iraqi people to proceed on its path in peace and without violence.”

              Now at last

Hussein was buried shortly before sunrise today in a family plot next to the graves of his two sons,

              Here is the USA stat
At least 2,998 members of the U.S. military have been killed since the Iraq war began in March 2003.

December also appeared to be one of the worst months for Iraqi civilian deaths. Through Friday, at least 2,186 Iraqis have been killed in war-related or sectarian violence.

It was not the right thing

I think executing Saddam Hussein is not a solution to any problem. There are many culprits in every country who indulge in heinous crimes of child molestation and murders. They need to be hanged. By hanging a 69 year man is nowhere a solution to any problem. If he was guilty, there were other ways of punishing him. He can be given life imprisonment

The death of a Texas soldier, announced yesterday by the Pentagon, raised to 3,000 the number of US service members killed since the war began, a grim milestone that came as Saddam Hussein was buried in the village where he was born.

Just before second world war Japan was behaving in a superior way and used to boss over other nations and flex its muscles. It was interfering in many nation's internal affair.Every one knows what happened to it during the world war2.USA is almost behaving in the same way,the lunatic at white house is creating life miserable for the citizens of the world, his father started the inflation of oil prices in 90s and now this one is leaving no stone unturned to skyrocket it further.USA's policies have direct or indirect effects on every individual's life across the world and with all this act it is creating insecurity amongst the world by promoting and inciting terrorist acts and organisation, the latest one being igniting fire between shia's and sunni's by hanging Saddam.Infact Osama was created by USA to fight against USSR during the cold war and now Osama is on the most wanted list of USA.
Friends we just need to pray that God gives wisdom to the citizens of USA to elect a good person as thier President who would work for world peace and not one who just to satisfy his own ego create unrest on Earth.

It's difficult to imagine how the execution of Saddam Hussein could have been bungled so badly. Although the government of Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki has promised a thorough investigation, and some arrests have already been made, the fact is that there are only two plausible explanations for the debacle. One is that the Maliki government is so incompetent that it cannot keep order even under the controlled circumstances of the gallows. And yet, incredibly, it is the government that now has the power to veto U.S. military plans for trying to end the violence in Iraq.

In his first comments on Saddam's execution, which has inflamed sectarian passions, Bush said his former enemy could have been hanged in a "more dignified way."

The European Union on Friday criticised the planned execution of two aides of recently hanged former Iraqi president Saddam Hussein and called on Iraqi authorities to ensure a fair prosecution of crimes committed under Saddam's regime.

"The EU opposes capital punishment under all circumstances," the German EU presidency said in a statement, underlining the bloc's "longstanding position ... with regard to the death penalty."
