Default Today India Will Become A Regular Member Of Missile Technology Control Regime

After rejection in NSG membership India will get full time membership in Missile Technology Control Regime (MTCR). This will enable India to buy high-end missiles technology and build great ventures with Russia. Main aim of MTCR is to restrict the proliferation of missiles, unmanned air vehicles, complete rocket systems and related technology for those systems that are able to carry 500 kilogramme payload for at least 300 kilometres, as well as the systems that intended for the delivery of weapons of mass destruction (WMD).

Things to know about India joins Missile Technology Control Regime.

MTCR membership will enable India to buy high-end missile technology and also enhance its joint ventures with Russia.

India’s membership had been blocked in 2015 by Italy, which seemed to link it to the standoff over the detention of the Italian marines. With the return of the second marine, Salvatore Girone, to Rome on May 29, the sources said, “Italy is no longer blocking the consensus.”
