This activity tracker can help identify when your cat gets sick

The PurrSong Pendant is a tiny device that measures your cat's activity and sleeps.Fitness trackers come in all shapes and sizes, and give you a way to find out things like how many steps you walk, how many calories you consume and how many hours you sleep. This type of info can be used to improve not only your own health, but also the wellness of your furry friends. Fitbit-like devices for pets are nothing new. And last week at CES 2020 I was able to check one out up close: the PurrSong Pendant, which is a fitness tracker for cats.

Most people don't know if they brushed their teeth properly. The Colgate Plaqless Pro electric toothbrush--which will soon be commercially available--seeks to change that. Touted as the first electric toothbrush that detects buildup in real-time, the Plaqless Pro has embedded smart optical sensors in the brush head, which allows brushers to "see" how they really brush. A light ring on the handle turns blue to alert users that buildup is detected and turns white when an area is done. The toothbrush also syncs with the Apple Health app for easy and transparent tracking of oral health.

Ring Adds Privacy Dashboard To App In Response To Security Concerns

The ring has announced that it is adding a new privacy dashboard to its mobile apps that will let Ring owners manage their connected devices, third-party services, and whether local police partnered with Ring can make requests to access the video from the Ring cameras on the account. The company says that other privacy and security settings will be added to the dashboard in the future. This new Control Center is available now in both the iOS and Android versions of the Ring app.

The ring has faced considerable criticism in recent weeks over its security and privacy practices. There have been reports of Ring cameras being “hacked” because owners reused passwords and logins that were obtained by bad hackers in data leaks from other services and didn’t have two-factor authentication set up.
