New Delhi, Dec 22: The Election Commission has said that it is not happy with the replies submitted by Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi in connection with their controversial speeches made during the recent election campaign in Gujarat. The two leaders had filed their replies after being issued showcause notices by the EC.
The Commission also expressed displeasure over the remarks made by Gandhi and Modi in their respective speeches.
While Modi had justified the killing of Sohrabuddin Sheikh in a fake encounter, Gandhi had called the Gujarat administration ‘merchants of death’.
The EC had also issued notices to Congress leader Digvijay Singh and BJP leader Vijay Malhotra over their remarks made during the Gujarat election campaign.
