    A Special CBI court on Tuesday convicted RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav in the Rs 139.35 crore Doranda treasury embezzlement case.
    The quantum of punishment will be pronounced on February 18, a CBI counsel said.
    "Lalu Prasad has been convicted. The quantum of punishment will be pronounced on February 18," the CBI counsel said.
    The court of Special CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) Judge S K Shashi had completed the hearing against 99 accused including Prasad, which was underway since February last year.

    The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday convicted former Bihar Chief Minister and RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav in the Rs.3600 crore fodder scam. The special court also sentenced Yadav to five years in jail and fined him Rs.5.6 crore. The decision comes after a three-year long trial that saw the CBI allege that Yadav and his family benefited illegally from the sale of fodder meant for cattle.

      The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday convicted former Bihar Chief Minister and RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav in the multi-billion dollar fodder scam. Yadav was sentenced to five years in prison and fined Rs 100 crore. The RJD will challenge the verdict in the Supreme Court.
