MG ZS Electric Vehicle Unveil Today
MG ZS EV will be the second offering of the British carmaker in India after the popular MG Hector.
With the government trying to promote the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) in India, more and more carmakers are in the process of introducing their environment-friendly four-wheelers in our country. The launch of Hyundai Kona EV in July 2019 came as a welcome addition to the electric vehicle portfolio of India that included the likes of Tata Tigor EV, Mahindra eVerito and Mahindra e20 Plus till then. Now, MG (Morris Garages) Motor India is all set to unveil the ZS EV today.
After the Hector, the ZS electric vehicle will be the second offering of Morris Garages in India. While MG Hector has been liked by masses across the country, the carmaker will be hoping for a similar response for the upcoming ZS.
Although MG Motor India has kept the prices, features, and specifications of the ZS EV under wraps, the electric vehicle is already available in the UK market. We list below some of the important details you need to know about MG ZS EV.
MG ZS EV Launch
While MG Motor India will unveil the ZS electric vehicle today, the ZS launch is expected to take place in January 2020.

MG ZS electric vehicle might be priced over Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom).
MG ZS EV Motor & Transmission
Powering the ZS electric vehicle will be asynchronous motor delivering 143 PS and 353 Nm of peak torque. The motor will be offered with an automatic transmission. There are three driving modes (Eco, Normal and Sport) and as many regenerative braking modes.
MG ZS EV Battery
The upcoming electric vehicle is expected to feature a 44.5 kWh water-cooled, lithium-ion battery. Now, the claimed charging time for completely juicing up the battery of the UK-spec ZS through a 7kW charger is 6.5 hours, while it is 40 minutes for an 80 percent charge using 50kW CCS charger.
MG ZS EV Range
The claimed WLTP (Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicles Test Procedure) combined range for the UK-spec ZS electric vehicle is 263 km, while the city range is 372 km.
MG ZS EV Top Speed
The UK-spec ZS electric vehicle can accelerate from 0 to 100 mph in 8.5 seconds. Its maximum speed is 140 kmph.
MG ZS EV Variants
The UK-spec MG ZS electric vehicle is available in two variants -- Excite and Exclusive.
MG ZS EV Features (Exteriors)
The MG ZS electric vehicle gets a star-rider grille upfront, which is flanked by bi-function projector headlights (automatic) having LED DRLs. The center brake light is also an LED unit. Other features include heated ORVMs, silver roof rails, front and rear aero wipers and 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels.
MG ZS EV Features (Interiors)
The upcoming ZS will have a spacious cabin with premium features. The UK-spec ZS gets an 8-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. The leather-style upholstery has contrast stitching. The driver seat is 6-way electrically adjustable. Other features include a multi-function leather steering wheel, adaptive cruise control, and a panoramic sunroof.
