MG (Morris Garages) Motor India today reopened the bookings of Hector for a limited period. The carmaker had temporarily suspended the MG Hector bookings in July due to high initial demand. Launched in India on June 27, the popular SUV had received more than 28,000 bookings within six weeks of commencement on June 4.
At present, there are 15,000 customers on the priority waiting list and they will be provided preference while booking Hector. The booking amount is Rs 50,000, with the facility available on the carmaker's website and its more than 120 centers across the country. MG Motor India will increase the production of the SUV at Halol manufacturing plant from November 2019.
MG Hector is available in four variants -- Style, Super, Smart and Sharp.
MG Motor India had sold 1,508 units of Hector in July 2019 and 2,018 units in August 2019.
MG Hector is a connected vehicle boasting of the iSMART technology.
MG Hector is available in four variants -- Style, Super, Smart and Sharp. There are five colour options -- Aurora Silver, Candy White, Starry Black, Burgundy Red and Coloured Glaze Red. Powering the SUV is a 1.5-litre turbocharged intercooler petrol engine delivering 143 PS and 250 Nm of torque. The mill is offered with a 6-speed manual gearbox with an option for a 6-speed DCT. There is also a 48V hybrid variant with the petrol trim. However, the hybrid option only gets a 6-speed manual gearbox. There is also a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel mill producing 170 PS and 350 Nm of torque. It is offered with a 6-speed manual gearbox.
