  • ISRO Chandrayaan-2 Highlights & Updates

The Chandrayaan-2 orbiter's mission life has been increased from one year to seven years.

The Chandrayaan-2 orbiter is performing "very well" and has commenced carrying out all the experiments that it is supposed to, Indian Space Research Organisation chief K Sivan said Thursday. Sivan also said a national-level committee is looking into what went wrong with the Chandrayaan-2 lander Vikram that lost communication with Earth during its descent on to the lunar surface.

Chandrayaan-2 orbiter carries eight payloads to conduct experiments.

Sivan was speaking at an event in Ahmedabad where he also said Isro's next big focus will be on the missions to send a probe to the Sun and to sending humans to space on an Indian spacecraft. Isro is also working on a rocket to launch small satellites, Sivan said.

The Chandrayaan-2's Vikram lander has not been heard from since September 7 when it lost contact with Isro. A 14-day period to re-establish contact with the Chandrayaan-2 lander ended on Sepetmber 21 when night enveloped the lunar south polar region where Vikram attempted landing. With no heating instruments on board to survive Moon's harsh, cold winters Vikram will be dead by the time sunlight returns to the area.
The Chandrayaan-2 orbiter, on the other hand, is performing exactly like it is supposed to. The orbiter carries on board eight payloads, or scientific instruments, meant to carry out experiments.

NASA also attempted to take images of the lander with the help of its Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter. But the shadows in the area, could not capture the lander Vikram's exact position.

These are some word say by K Sivan, ISRO Chief:

Chandrayaan2 orbiter is doing very well. All payload operations have commenced, it's doing extremely well. We have got no signal from the lander but the orbiter is working very well. A national-level committee is now analyzing what really went wrong with the lander.

Yes its doing well and captures the photos of every side of moon and also tried to make connection with the lander. but there is more shadows in the landing area that's why its difficult to find Vikram lander in shadows.

Nasa on Friday released high-resolution images captured by its Orbiter Camera during its flyby of the lunar region where India's ambitious Chandrayaan 2 mission attempted a soft landing near the Moon's uncharted south pole and found Vikram had a hard landing.

National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) discharged high-goals pictures of the lunar area where Chandrayaan-2 lander, Vikram had endeavored a delicate landing not long ago. The pictures were taken by NASA's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter, in any case, inferable from sunset the lander couldn't be found. The US space office likewise gave an announcement saying the Vikram lander might stow away in a shadow. #ISRO

On Sept. 27, 1997, NASA's Mars Pathfinder mission beamed its very last data transmission back to Earth. The Mars Pathfinder mission consisted of a base station and the very first Mars rover named Sojourner.

NASA's latest moon photos show no sign of India's lost lander.
The chances of finding India’s Vikram moon lander seem to be slimming. NASA has scanned the area where it is thought to be, but has seen no sign of it.

Lander location has to be found. At least confirmed news positive or negative is mandatory to exactly what happened with Vikram Lander, for any further future advancement for Big Moon Mission. Vikram lander search operation process is done in October when looner night over.
