    India saw a single day rise of 4,417 new coronavirus infections, the lowest in last three months, taking the tally of COVID-19 cases to 4,44,66,862, according to the Union health ministry data updated on Tuesday.

    Active Covid cases have further declined to 52,336, while the death toll has climbed to 5,28,030 with 23 fatalities, including one death reconciled by Kerala, the data updated at 8 am showed.

    India had reported 3,714 new cases in a span of 24 hours on June 6.

    The active cases comprises 0.12 per cent of the total infections while the national COVID-19 recovery rate has increased to 98.69 per cent, the health ministry said.
    Gujarat Logs 214 New Coronavirus Cases, 1 Death

    Gujarat on Tuesday registered 214 new cases and one death due to COVID-19, taking the overall tally to 12,71,392 and the toll to 11,017, said the state health department.
    Also, 216 patients recovered during the last 24 hours, taking the tally of recoveries to 12,59,035 and leaving the state with 1,340 active cases, said a department release.

    Maharashtra Records 869 New COVID-19 Cases, 2 Deaths

    Maharashtra on Tuesday added 869 fresh cases of COVID-19 and two new deaths linked to the infection, taking the overall tally to 81,06,272 and the toll to 1,48,269, said a state health department official.
    As many as 1,328 patients recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours, pushing up their cumulative count to 79,50,302 and leaving the state with 7,701 active cases, he said.
    The state's coronavirus recovery rate was 98.08 per cent, while the fatality rate stood at 1.82 per cent, the official said.
    Both coronavirus-related fatalities were reported from Pune - one each in the city and rural parts of the western Maharashtra district, he said.
    The Mumbai administrative circle registered 505 coronavirus cases, the Pune circle 210 followed by 52 in Nashik, 25 in Kolhapur, 19 each in Aurangabad and Latur, 16 in Akola and 23 in the Nagpur circle, the official said.

    West Bengal Logs 211 New Covid Cases, 2 Deaths

    West Bengal on Tuesday recorded 211 fresh COVID-19 cases, 122 more than the previous day, pushing the tally to 21,08,188, a health department bulletin said.
    The coronavirus death count rose to 21,477 as two more persons succumbed to the infection, it said.
    The number of active COVID-19 cases improved to 1,965 from 2,002 on Monday following 246 recoveries, the bulletin added.
    So far, 20,84,746 people have recovered from the disease in the state, it added.
