The Prime Minister Gati Shakti programme is an innovative and impactful initiative that would greatly strengthen infrastructure delivery in the country and drive its future growth. The Government of India has accorded high importance to engaging with the private sector to ensure the success of this programme.
India’s North Eastern Region is expected to be a key beneficiary of the PM Gati Shakti initiative and the participation of stakeholders including Industry and Logistics supply chain providers would help to catalyze its potential. For seamless logistics infrastructure creation in the region, there is a need for effective coordination among Industry and various logistics related ministries to realize the synergies.
With this background, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in association with DPIIT, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India is organising Northeast Logistics Conclave on 6 December 2022 at Hotel Vivanta in Guwahati, Assam.
The Conclave is themed “Creating Logistics Capitals in the Northeast”. Apart from the Inaugural Session to be addressed by Hon’ble Ministers, there will be technical sessions focussing on the recently announced “National Logistics Policy”, “Bridging the first mile and last mile gaps in supply chains”, “Facilitation of balanced logistics ecosystem growth through policy interventions”, and “Developing and Strengthening Logistics Human Capital”. Coinciding the conclave an exhibition will be held showcasing stalls of North East State Governments, projecting their logistics strengths and potential opportunities.
This conclave proposes to bring all stakeholders at the highest level, on one platform to look for avenues to take forward Northeast development agenda, identify suitable logistics and supply chain projects for the short, medium and long term, as also connectivity with neighbouring stakeholder countries, to create logistics capitals in the Northeast andshowcase opportunity for Private sector to collaborate. Governments are keen to hear from the private sector on how the logistics development in Northeast can be fast tracked, and this programme will be a good platform for industry to interact with ministers and senior Government officials and provide inputs.
We are expecting presence of Hon’ble Union Ministers and Senior Government officials from Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region, Ministry of Railways, Ministry of Civil Aviation, Ministry of Ports, Ministry of Shipping and Waterways, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways and Hon’ble Chief Ministers, Industry Ministers and Senior Government officials of North Eastern States in the programme.
