Every evening at 6:15, Meera waited for the same local train at Mumbai’s Dadar station.

She had noticed Aarav months ago. He always stood near the second pillar, carrying a blue backpack and reading a book while the station rushed around him. They never spoke.

Then, one rainy Tuesday, Mumbai's monsoon arrived without warning.

    Meera had forgotten her umbrella.

As rain poured across the station entrance, Aarav quietly held his umbrella over her.

“You're going toward Churchgate, right?” he asked.

She smiled. “How did you know?”

    “You always take the 6:20.”

That was how they started talking.

Soon, the train became their little world. They discussed everything—old Bollywood songs, terrible office lunches, childhood dreams, and the best places for chai. Aarav worked as a photographer, while Meera dreamed of opening a small bookstore.

One evening, Meera told him she had been offered a job in Bengaluru.

    “That’s wonderful,” Aarav said.

But his smile didn't reach his eyes.

For weeks, neither mentioned what they were both afraid to say.

On her final evening in Mumbai, Meera stood on the platform with her suitcase. The familiar 6:20 arrived.

    Aarav wasn't there.

    Her heart sank.

    Then she heard footsteps.

He appeared, breathless, holding the same blue backpack and a small paper bag.

“I bought you something,” he said.

    Inside was a tiny notebook.

On the first page, he had written:

“For all the stories you haven't written yet. I hope I get to be part of one.”

Meera looked up, smiling through tears.

“You could have just said you love me.”

    Aarav laughed softly.

“I was waiting for the right train.”

The announcement echoed across the platform.

    Her train was leaving.

This time, Meera didn't walk away alone.

    She took his hand.

“Then come with me,” she whispered.

Outside, the monsoon rain continued falling, washing the city in silver.

And somewhere between two cities, two people finally began their story.

A sweet and heartwarming story. The rainy Mumbai setting, the train routine, and the little notebook make their love story feel simple yet meaningful. The ending, especially “I was waiting for the right train,” is a lovely touch.
