World champion Australlia easily defeated the Kiwi’s in a much shorter version of game i.e. 20-20 over match. Batting first Australlia made 214 runs for the loss of 5 wickets. Australian skipper Ricky Ponting made unbeaten 98 runs.
Chasing the huge target of 214 in just 20 overs Newzeland were all out for 170 runs, Scott Styris made 66 runs for Newzeland and Michael kazprowich took 4 wickets.
