  • Commonwealth Games 2014

India will be expecting a lion's share of awards from boxers, wrestlers, shooters and shuttlers at 2014, Commonwealth Games starting here on Wednesday but it would be difficult to match the record medal haul of 101 in last edition at home.

The 2010 Commonwealth Games was scarred with accusations of crime and skipped work deadlines but the fantastic achievements of the Indian athletes and the excellent distribution of the activities made up for all the controversies. The Indians are riding high on their ancient achievements at the 2012 London Olympic games, where they won a history six awards, such as two silver. Without house advantage it would be challenging to duplicate the achievements of 2010 Earth Activities in Glasgow.

This time around Indian have a significant conditional of 224 athletes and their main honor desires will be from capturing, punching, struggling, tennis and tennis. In the last two Activities, photographers have won the major slice of awards for Native Indian. They won 27 awards such as 16 golds in Victoria and 30 awards, such as 14 silver awards in Delhi truly. India also had a great trip in the track and field truly with discus pitcher Krishna Poonia successful the first silver honor in sporting for Native Indian in 52 years since Milkha Singh's victory at the 1958 Cardiff Activities. Now also the focus will be on Krishna and other discus pitcher Vikas Gowda, who finished an amazing 8th in the London, UK Activities.

Last but not the least, the mens tennis team will be looking to save some pleasure after their frustrating show at the World Cup. The mens team resolved for the silver in Delhi but also had to withstand the ignominy of a 0-8 loss against Sydney in the final.
