  • Punjab celebrate 50th anniversary of 1965 Indo-Pak war

    Parkash Singh Badal Chief minister of Punjab government on Tuesday said the Punjab government has decided to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the 1965 Indo-Pak war on September 9 at Amarkot village in Tarn Taran district. Indian soldiers had made sacrifice to protect our borders from the enemy during the 1965 war and this function to mark the 50th anniversary of India's feat in the history of armed forces would inculcate a spirit of patriotism and nationalism in the youth.

    Mr Badal said that our soldiers sacrificed their lives to protect our borders. This function is to mark India's great feat will act as source of inspiration and inculcate feelings of patriotism and nationalism amongst our youth.

      The CM also directed the officers to ensure participation of heirs of Abdul Hameed, Company Quarter Master Havaldar, destroyed four tanks during the war. The soldier was awarded with highest military award Param Vir Chakara posthumously.
