FICCI is delighted to invite you for the Workshop on “Gathering Technical & Commercial Information from EPO's patent information products & Commercialization of IP” organized jointly by FICCI, The European Patent Office (EPO) & European Business & Technology Center (EBTC) at Chandigarh on 28th November 2014 at Taj Chandigarh, Chandigarh.
Key Highlights
The Workshop shall help and equip attendees in
Understanding patentability criteria at EPO to eliminate effort and money in filling non-compliant patents.
To adeptly draft an application resulting in speedy examination & early grant of patent at EPO.
Live Demonstrations of EPO databases like Global Patent Index (GPI), Espacenet, etc. to enhance opportunities in European Markets.
Commercializing IP- creation of IP is about commercial use and profitablility. This Workshop shall help attendees understand value of IP, identify state of the art technologies, filling trends, assignees etc.

About the Speakers
Mr. Arvind Chopra, Head IPR, European Business & Technology Center (EBTC)-has 16 years of multidisciplinary experience in IP, Specifically in patent commercialization, IP auditing, patent landscapes, patent drafting, open-source licensing, technology development and patent infringement.
Dr. Dieter Tzschoppe, Director Pure & organic Chemistry, EPO- of French nationality, studied chemistry at the University of Stuttgart (Germany) and holds a PhD in organic chemistry from the University of Besançon (France). He joined the EPO in 1985 in The Hague (Netherlands) as Search Examiner in the field of pharmaceutical formulations. After his transfer to Munich (Germany) in 1989 he worked as search and substantive examiner in the field of medical use inventions. Since 1999 he is director of units of about 30 examiners, first in organic chemistry, since 2005 in pharmacology and since 2013 additionally in galenics in the cluster Pure and Applied Organic Chemistry (PAOC). Responsible for external relations for cluster PAOC he frequently represents the cluster/EPO as speaker in conferences or in the framework of international cooperation.
Mr. Patrick Le Gonidec, Electronic Publication & Dissemination, EPO- frequently represents the cluster/EPO as speaker in conferences or in the framework of international cooperation.
